Storyline

The sanctuary team respond to a call for help from a cargo ship and arrive by helicopter only to find that everyone on board has died a violent death. There are several now empty animal cages in the cargo hold but a few are occupied - by creatures they have never before seen. Two of the creatures are cute little things that Ashley calls nubbins. They soon reproduce a litter of 14 little ones and in general, the nubbins have an interesting effect on those around them. When they escape from their cages, they have a major problem on their hands. Dr. Magnus meanwhile that she has been asked in a will to perform an autopsy on Maurice MacRae who was convinced he was an abnormal. His granddaughter Sophie stays at the sanctuary until the autopsy is finalized but senses something strange about the the place. This proves essential to bringing the nubbins under control. Trivia

The top of Tirich Mir is over 25,000 feet above sea level, and base camps for climbing Tirich Mir are usually at about 15,000 feet. If the crash site was between these two then our main characters were at least three miles up, where walking across the room is serious aerobic exercise. See more »

Star Trek rip-off
8 March 2016 | by (Windsor UK) – See all my reviews

I wonder if the writers had seen 'The Trouble with Tribbles'? I have seen the first six of these episodes - how on earth did they get four series out of this? The lead characters seem to be charisma-free, Bigfoot is a routine baddie-turned-good. Have any of these actors gone on to better things(or any things!)? There are no surprises or plot twists in this episode; even the vaunted 'strange goings on' between the principals is just skimmed over and not really developed into anything interesting. Special effects are cursory, but scenery etc. is well done and production values are OK. If you're a fan then this will be alright for you but if you're speculating about the series start with a different episode(can't say which one because none of the episodes I've seen rates above a generous 6).
