Merry Christmas times 8!!
9 July 2008 | by (Greensboro, NC) – See all my reviews

I thought my house was crazy on Christmas morning, and I only have 2 kids! It was amazing to see how this mother of 2 sets of multiples organizes their family celebration. Her ability to pre-plan and think out every detail is truly something to see. You can tell that she has learned a lot from the trials and tribulations of previous Christmases.

It was interesting to see how she had assigned seating places on the floor for each of her kids. She did this by taping a piece of paper with each of the kids name on the floor. Their assigned seats were separated and spread out across the room to keep them from bombarding her as she attempts to hand out all the gifts. They take their time and allow each child to open 1 present at the time, with some time given for playing with each item. Then each child takes what they have unwrapped and places it in an assigned laundry basket with their name on it in the kitchen. This keeps the clutter down in the room they are opening presents and also keeps the kids from fighting over whose toy belongs to who.

What I found surprising is they then take a break from opening presents. They actually stop midway to go have breakfast. That would never fly in my house! But again, they have such a large family, I'm sure you have to do things differently just to manage it all.

This was a very enjoyable episode to watch and to see Kate actual seem to be a little more relaxed and enjoying the day. I did find it a little strange that they mentioned receiving gifts from viewers/strangers. I don't know - it almost seemed like a pitch to me - like saying "yes we will accept your gifts, please send us more!" I think it would have been better to send thanks individually to the senders and not mention it on the show.
