Alan gets worked up when he learns that his dad is set to have his heart bypass operation, the thought of losing his dad hits Alan very hard.
Wow, I did not expect this, the standout episode of the whole show, this was absolutely terrific. It's moving, it's funny, it's a massive change in terms of pace, direction, and humour. Could you imagine playing Happy Families with Alan.
That scene where Alan sits up in the kitchen contemplating his thoughts, that was quite powerful, finally you get a chance to see just how good an actor McNally is.
The scene with the greenhouse was hilarious, and once again you know the health and safety people would never allow anything like this to happen now.
Genuinely, hilarious.
9/10.
