Documentaries that let criminals talk about their illegal occupation are often successful TV material. Sometimes, such docs find their way onto the home video market. Cocaine Cowboys is such a franchise and has been released in several countries already. The UK were a little behind schedule and got the 2nd installment earlier in 2013, five years after it was released in the US.

An interesting fact is that the BBFC would have rejected the documentary in its uncensored form. They felt that a scene showing a step-by-step instruction on how to produce crack cocaine was in violation of their guidelines. They demanded the scene's removal in order to give a rating. The distributor Universal Pictures UK agreed and cut it out, getting the BBFC 18 classification in return. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
