Painfully low-brow
Ichiban_Sensei8 February 2008
I wouldn't say i'm the briggest Alan Carr fan in the world; far from it. But this TV show is a all time low for "comedy", its just pure awful. If Alan's voice doesn't have you clawing up the walls his dangerously lowbrow and highly insulting form of comedy will. It exploits the ridiculous stereotypes by using a bunch of Z list celebs and pits them against a cast of "ugly and thick" working class chumps. Nothing is sacred in this poor and shabby TV quiz show and it commonly falls back on fat people and Alan's gayness to fill in the void that is this shows content.

Avoid at all costs; your brain will thank you.

Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong

Warning: Spoilers
Justin Lee Collins had plenty of his own shows during The Friday Night Project, so it was right that his co-host should get his own show. Hoted by Alan Carr, this game show is determined to see who is better (with knowledge), celebrities (the rich, famous and well-known, for whatever reason) or civilians (which is what Elizabeth Hurley calls the unknown public people). Over a series of rounds involving questions about each others lives and lifestyles, the team would get to the final round to win a luxury holiday somewhere, while the losing team get a luxury 1 minute trolley dash round one of London's mini marts. Celebrities on the show have included: Chris Moyles, Duncan James, Zoë Ball, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Jamelia, Davina McCall, Les Dennis, Konnie Huq, Kirsty Gallacher, Alex Zane, Louis Walsh, Coronation Street's Richard Fleeshman, Jayne Middlemiss, Paul O'Grady, Patrick McGuinness, Myleene Klass, Peter Andre, David Gest, Johnny Vegas, Jenni Falconer, Lee Ryan, Jermaine Jackson, Sara Cox, Lorraine Kelly, Trisha Goddard, Brendan Cole, Matt Di Angelo, Sally Lindsay and many more. It is a funny show, with a good gay host, the voice of Leslie Phillips (who first said the catchphrase "Ding dong!" - said whenever he saw an attractive woman - in Carry On Nurse) narrating (for team scores), some good celebrities, it is just a fun show. Very good!
