Storyline

Pavane for a Dead Skunk draws its title from Maurice Ravel's classical composition, 'Pavane for a Dead Princess'. But this tale's 11 year old heroine reveres skunks as others might a princess. The young girl is known only as "Critter". She begins a crusade of burying dead animals after unwittingly chasing a skunk onto a road where it is killed. Her new found passions take her through a surprising and unfamiliar spiritual odyssey.
