Directed and written by Bollywood director Nikhil Advani (Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam-e-Ishq), Delhi Safari is his first foray into an animated adventure feature. The original Hindi film version was voiced by some of the greats of Bollywood, including Boman Irani, Govinda, Akshaye Khanna and Urmilla Matondkar. When I heard about that project I was very intrigued, and when I saw the trailers and heard the fab songs by Shankar Ehsaan and Loy and I couldn’t wait to see and hear more about Delhi Safari. I was also excited when I heard that in an unique move, Advani and the producers also made a version with an American cast that includes some of the greats of Hollywood, which included Jason Alexander, Brad Garrett, Vanessa Williams, Jane Lynch, Christopher Lloyd and Cary Elwes – a nice coup. It is the Hollywood version, which by the way has been shortlisted for the Oscars for animation, »

Yesterday when I showed you the list of the 21 Animated Feature contenders for the 2013 Oscars there were five films I didn't yet have information on -- Adventures in Zambezia, Delhi Safari, Hey Krishna, The Mystical Laws and Walter & Tandoori's Christmas. Well, I did a little scrounging and have come up with details on all five including trailers for each and only one of them is lacking subtitles. I have included information on all five below along with their trailers and, again, you can check out the full list of contenders here and I will be updating my Best Animation predictions very soon. Krishna aur Kans
Two animation films from India: Hey Krishna (Krishna aur Kans) by Vikram Veturi and Delhi Safari by Nikhil Advani have been submitted for the 85th Academy Awards in the Animated Feature Film category.
The five shortlisted nominations will be announced on 10 Jan 2013.
The 21 submitted features, listed in alphabetical order by title, are:
Adventures in Zambezia
From Up on Poppy Hill
Ice Age Continental Drift
A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman
The Mystical Laws
The Pirates! Band of Misfits
The Rabbi’s Cat
Walter & Tandoori’s Christmas
Twenty-one features have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Film category for the 85th Academy Awards. This means that there will likely be five nominations announced on January 10, although several films listed below have not yet had their required Los Angeles qualifying runs, the Academy points out. Presumably they will fulfill all the requirements. Films submitted in the Animated Feature Film category may also qualify for Academy Awards in other categories, including Best Picture, but I doubt that any of these will chase that down. I bold the five front-runners for Oscar noms. The 21 submitted features, listed in alphabetical order by title, are: "Adventures in Zambezia" "Brave" "Delhi Safari" "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" "Frankenweenie" "From Up on Poppy Hill" »

I admit, I love love stories, and from the first time that I saw the trailer of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, I thought that this was going to be a cute romantic comedy. However, this not your average filmi romance because instead of young love, this film tells the story of finding your soul mate even when you think it might be to late in life. Shirin and Farhad are two over-forty middle aged Parsi people leading their lives amidst a fast dwindling Parsi community. Self content and enveloped in their daily worldly affairs, they have not had the time to pause and think about love. That is, until they meet each other. What follows is an unconventional love story – quirky and sweet, having its own essence of romance, and teaching the world that love has no expiry date. The film marks the acting debut of choreographer and director Farah Khan, »
