After the great success of "Unit 13" (1996) there were many attempts to repeat this great success, after "De Geheime Dienst" (e.g."The Secret Service") and "Ernstige Delicten" (e.g. "Serious Crimes"), "Deadline" was the third attempt to get the same success. It failed.
But "Deadline" could not get the same excitement as "Unit 13". There is hardly any story, the directing is bad and there is no thriller, though it is sold as a thriller. Also, production company says Belgium-born director Arno Dierckx is a great talent. He is not!! The story lines are thin; after a few clicks on the computer and some research on the internet, the bad guys are caught. If this is the way the police works in The Netherlands, why are the so many criminals still left on the streets??? "Unit 13" contained research work, great story lines, great acting and good directing. Everything "Deadline" does not have!!! "Deadline" is USELESS !!!
