- The final two couples perform a dance that they have not previously performed, their favourite dance from the previous episodes and a freestyle dance, then the couple with the higher score, combined from the judges' scores and viewers' votes, is announced as the winner.—Allister Coots
- Host Daryl Somers introduces the panel of judges - Todd McKenney, Helen Richey, Paul Mercurio and Mark Wilson - the house orchestra, led once again by Chong Lim, co-host Sonia Kruger, who is dressed in a golden Toni Maticevski gown, and the final two couples, one of which will be crowned as Champion of Dancing With The Stars at the end of the night. Before the winner is announced, the couples will perform three dances, one that they have not previously performed, their favourite dance from the previous nine weeks of competition and a freestyle dance. Daryl and Sonia also inform the viewers that the voting lines have closed for the final time.
Kate Ceberano, dressed in a fiery fringed frock, and her partner John-Paul Collins, dressed all in white, began the night's dancing with a fun Salsa. After they are interviewed by Daryl, the judges give their comments - both they and the audience were impressed with their great body rhythm. The couple then head to the green room for an interview with Sonia before the judges reveal their scores. All four judges scored them 9 out of a possible 10, for a total of 36 points.
They were followed by Fifi Box, dressed in a crystal blue gown, and her partner Paul Green, who performed a sensual Rumba. The judges felt that their performance was an indication of how much the couple had grown throughout the series, with one mentioning that it gave them "goosebumps" and that the couple "tapped into pure magic". Todd scored them 9, Helen 9, Paul 10 and Mark 10, for a total of 38 points.
While the two couples changed and prepared to reprise their favourite dances, the first four couples to be eliminated from the series came back to the floor one by one to perform a dance that they had previously performed. First up were the first couple to leave, Wendell Sailor and Linda De Nicola, who performed their Cha Cha from the first episode. Next up were Kimberley Davies and her partner Paul Zaidman, who danced their lively Salsa from episode three. They were followed by Naomi Robson and Steven Grace who danced their jumpy Jive from episode two, and the last couple to perform in this bracket were Todd Woodbridge and Emily Reilly, who reprised their Foxtrot from episode three.
The final two couples then had another chance to perform their favourite dances from the previous weeks, and Kate Ceberano, now dressed in candy pink, and John-Paul Collins took to the floor for their energetic, dynamic and sensational Jive from episode two, set to the Wolfmother song The Joker And The Thief. The judges were impressed by how slick the routine was and the ease with which they conducted it. Todd scored them 9, Helen 9, Paul 10 and Mark 9, for a total of 37 points.
Fifi Box, now dressed in a fire-engine red frock, and her partner Paul Green then chose their Salsa from episode three as their favourite routine. Both the judges and the audience were thrilled by their choreography, trust in the partnership and their fantastic body rhythm. Todd scored them 10, Helen 9, Paul 9 and Mark 10, for a total of 38 points.
While the two couples changed and prepared for their final dances, the audience and viewers were entertained by a special performance as the casts of Dein Perry's Tap Dogs, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake and the Bangarra Dance Theatre celebrated dancing in their own special ways.
The last four couples to be eliminated then came back to the floor one by one to perform a dance that they had previously performed. In this bracket, the first couple to return were Tatiana Grigorieva and her partner Brendan Humphreys, who performed their Paso Doble from episode four. Next up were David Graham and his partner Eliza Campagna, followed by Jamie Durie and Amanda Garner, who reprised their Salsa from episode three, and Tim Campbell and Natalie Lowe completed the set.
The two couples returned for their freestyle dances, the final dances they would perform before the winner was announced. Kate Ceberano, now dressed in a red and black dress with a Spanish inspiration, and John-Paul Collins, performed their routine, which was set to songs from the musical West Side Story. The judges congratulated them on their tremendous effort. All four judges scored them 10, giving them a perfect total of 40 points.
It was not surprising that Fifi Box and Paul Green's performance was something out of the box. Their routine, which Paul choreographed, paid homage to Michael Jackson and featured vampires and pole dancing, which impressed the judges. Todd scored them 10, Helen 10, Paul 9 and Mark 9, for a total of 38 points.
Then it was time to bring the two couples out together for the final verdict and find out who would be crowned as the champions of this series of Dancing With The Stars. We already knew that the judges had ranked Fifi and Paul in first place with a total of 114 points across tonight's three performances, while Kate and John-Paul had come a close second with a total of 113 points, but would these rankings change once the viewers' votes were added? After a few nail-biting moments, Daryl announced that the winners were ... Kate and John-Paul! Daryl and Sonia then said good-bye as the other couples from the series celebrated the new champions.
