  • A woman, who is repeatedly sexually harassed by a group of men on her way to work, is initially repulsed by their approaches, but in reaction gradually transforms herself into a fame fatale. As she gains confidence to conquer and destroy her harassers their attention turns to a new woman and she finds herself oddly nostalgic for their attention.

  • La Sueca (Elena Jorda Langfeldt) has come to Tijuana from Europe, hoping for a change in her life. She takes work as a private English tutor. Each day on her way to work she must pass through a colonnade of unemployed men who express a prurient interest in her. She grows increasingly anxious about them over time. Her anxiety is exacerbated by the innuendos of her 12-year student (Alberto Aguirre), and especially by his menacing father (Navid Negahban), who one day triggers a terrific domestic squabble when his wife (Rocio Muhs) catches him advancing on La Sueca. Stunned by the fighting, La Sueca takes refuge in the TV room where an eccentric granny (Sidy Rayseid) spends her days watching American film noir. La Sueca is mesmerized by the old woman's 'black and white world of weak men and tough dames,' and projects herself into the screen as an avenging femme fatale. The boy's jealous mother interrupts this reverie by firing her. Unfazed, La Sueca is heartened by her fantasy of revenge. Her euphoria is short-lived, however, as she discovers the men have turned their attention to another woman. She has finally gotten what she wished for, but is now perplexed by her ambivalence. She sits down in the town plaza and peers through a key chain photo viewer given to her by a blind photographer (Chaz Chilcote). In it, she recognizes her crippling ambivalence toward the men, and feels a sense of release. A group of mariachis serenades her into the setting sun as a flock of pigeons fills the sky.
