Storyline

Four troubled, inner city kids get a western-style shot at redemption when a cowboy pastor invites them to his country ranch and offers them a chance to put their lives in perspective. Korina, Rey, Anthony, and Marcus all grew up on the streets. Every decision they make in that volatile environment could affect the rest of their lives. Pastor John Gunn (John Schneider) runs the Power Company Kids' ministry, an organization dedicated to giving at-risk kids the tools they need to build brighter futures. He's convinced that the four teens would benefit from going back to the basics and experiencing the cowboy lifestyle, and with a little help from ranch owners Randy and Heidi Gunn, Pastor Gunn shows the kids that there's much more to life than hustling on the streets. Though reluctant to participate at first, the kids quickly adjust to their new surroundings as their eyes are opened to a whole new world of opportunity. Written by sherlock

good movie
11 January 2013 | by See all my reviews

This was a great film that examines the inner city life and its effects on youth. I liked how this film explored the differences in rural and urban lives. Richard Roundtree was great and it was good to see him return to the big screen and he definitely brought a little bit of "Shaft" mojo. John Schneider makes a good turn as well. The cast is rounded out by some young up and coming actors who are all great. The young urban kids are actually the most interesting part of the film. At some times the film does move a little slow while on the ranches going through every day mundane ranch life. Then trouble shows up when gang leader Caz arrives looking for what was stolen from him. Christian themed with a great soundtrack as well.
