Looks a little different to your standard apocalypse film. Was just starting to get interesting....

I hope there's more to come ...

I spotted this on Prime and thought it looked interesting - well, the title at least. I was right! I really enjoyed it and went looking for further episodes. Sadly, it appears there are none as yet. I liked the characters and the (admittedly juvenile) plot, which has just enough silliness not to descend into pure farce.
I let out a genuine guffaw at the last line.
I really hope this gets followed up. I want to see how Paradise works out.

Day Of Reckoning

So my Amazon Prime suggestion list had this right at the top as something it thought I might be interested in. It's, so far, a single episode of a potential series that is using Indiegogo to fund its creation. (or at least, it was I'm not sure where things stand with covid or how the funding was going). You can see videos on Youtube from the creative team about what they want to do.
So there's a debate here (entirely in my mind) of how far to go with my criticism, because I really really don't want to discourage anyone from persuing their dreams and the TV series seems like it's something that they're really excited about. So I feel bad for saying it but ultimately, I didn't enjoy this pilot. It felt silly to me, rather than offbeat or quirky and I didn't really find any of it funny. There's not context provided as to what "The Apocalypse" was, or how long it's been and to why Larkin (Louis Bernard) has lost his mind.
It's nicely shot, and the production values are there, but they're let down by some amateurish performances and the under cooked script. Sorry guys, I'm rooting for you to succeed, but I didn't enjoy this.
