Watch: Comic-Con Intro for Sony's 'Venom' Movie Starring Tom Hardy

"I'm going to do everything I can to deliver the best Venom that I possibly can muster." Sony has released the "live-from-the-set" video shown at Brazil's Comic-Con for the Venom movie, to begin building buzz for this upcoming Spidey spin-off set to hit theaters in October. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, Gangster Squad) is directing, though not much is known about the plot yet, except that it takes place mostly in San Francisco. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock, with a cast including Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Woody Harrelson, and Jenny Slate. Fleischer drew inspiration from two comic runs: Lethal Protector, in which Venom moves to San Francisco and tackles five new offspring of the Venom Symbiote; and Planet of the Symbiotes, where Earth is invaded by an army of symbiotes. This video doesn't show much at all, but it is a cool introduction. There's also a fairly boring

‘Venom’: Everything You Need to Know About Tom Hardy’s Supervillain Movie
Does the world need another superhero franchise? No, probably not, but at least the upcoming “Venom” sounds cooler than most of its predecessors. Tom Hardy will play the villain of the title, a journalist who begins terrorizing Spider-Man and everyone else in New York after bonding with the alien lifeforce/suit known as the symbiote.

Due out later this year, “Venom” is currently filming. Here’s what you need to know about it before then.

Hardy is playing the eponymous supervillain, Aka Eddie Brock, who for reasons that have yet to be made entirely clear was previously portrayed by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 3.” He’s joined by Michelle Williams as Ann Weying, better known as She-Venom, plus Riz Ahmed in a to-be-announced role. Many are hoping he’ll play Carnage,

Michelle Williams Climbed Aboard Venom To Work With Tom Hardy

Given the opportunity, few actors would turn down the chance to collaborate with Tom Hardy – and fewer still would turn down the chance to collaborate with Tom Hardy on Venom, the Sony-backed anti-hero spinoff that is fast becoming one of the most-anticipated movies of 2018. You know, even if Avengers: Infinity War tends to steal the headlines.

It’s coming together quite nicely under the watchful eye of Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), after recent set photos appeared to show Hardy wrestling the famous alien symbiote. Set to spearhead Venom as the haunted Eddie Brock, Tom Hardy is undoubtedly the beating heart of Sony’s offshoot, and his involvement in the project was enough to convince Michelle Williams to sign along the dotted line.

When asked to identify what drew her to Venom, the four-time Oscar nominee pointed to Hardy:

It’s, um, well for me it’s Tom (Hardy). I just thought,

Tom Hardy’s Venom design may have been revealed, new set photos surface

The design for Tom Hardy’s Venom might have possibly been revealed thanks to some sculpture stills.

The Venom solo movie is a bit of an unknown entity. On one hand, it’s a character that people love starring a popular actor, but on the other, we don’t really know how this is all going to fit into the larger Sony/Marvel superhero picture, or even what Venom will actually look like.

Well, we may have just got a little peak of how Hardy’s Venom will look in the movie. Artist Mikkel Frandsen has revealed some sculpture work via Instagram, not providing any real context with the images.

What’s interesting, however, is that Frandsen has an unannounced 2018 movie on his resume and that is the year which Venom will be released. Coincidence? Or are the images below a little glimpse into the future?

The Glamorous Life of a Movie Star

That there is a shot of the actor Tom Hardy on the set of Venom, the forthcoming Spider-man spin-off starring him as Eddie Brock, the dude who gets taken over by a gooey tar-like alien symbiote (we already saw this happen to Topher Grace in the third Sam Raimi movie) and proceeds to go a lil' wacky. Tom Hardy does good wacky! There have been a few brief videos popping up on social media this week (see here) that involve Hardy flopping around on the pavement in twenty degree weather - what a weird life actors have!

Venom is being directed by Zombieland and Gangster Squad's Ruben Fleischer and he's managed to gather up quite the killer cast for his comic-book film - besides Hardy there's Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson, and Michelle Williams! Woody Harrelson in talks for Venom, set photos see Tom Hardy performing motorcycle stunt

It looks like Woody Harrelson is set to follow up his role in the galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story by joining the Marvel universe – well, the Sony one, at least – with Variety reporting that the actor is in talks to join the Venom solo movie.

Although details are scarce, it’s said that Harrelson is up for the role of a henchman, presumably to Riz Ahmed’s (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) villain, rumoured to be that of Carnage. Given that Venom is taking inspiration from the Lethal Protector story arc, it’s possible that we could see Harrelson with his own symbiote.

Woody Harrelson in Discussions to Join the Cast of New Venom Movie

  • DailyDead
Tom Hardy could have some new company in the upcoming Venom movie, as it's being reported that Woody Harrelson is in discussions to join the cast of Sony's movie about one of Spider-Man's most popular villains (or antihero, depending on how you view the character).

Word on Harrelson's potential involvement with Venom comes from Variety, who report that Harrelson would play a "henchman of sorts," although Sony has yet to officially comment on the casting.

Harrelson would join a cast that includes Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a man who becomes linked with an alien Symbiote that turns him into Venom, one of the ultimate villains in the Spider-Man universe. Although Venom and the Symbiote have a big influence on Spider-Man in the Marvel comic books, this film would take place outside of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, which includes the most recent appearance by the web-slinger in this year's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Venom Eyes Woody Harrelson for Henchman Role

Venom Eyes Woody Harrelson for Henchman Role
Although Sony Pictures' Venom already in production, with filming starting in late October, it's never too late to add a new cast member. A new report surfaced today which revealed that Woody Harrelson is in talks to sign on, reportedly to play "a henchman of sorts," although there is no indication that this character has roots in the Marvel Comics, and it remains unclear when we'll find out more about this character. It also remains unclear how many more roles need to be filled out as production keeps rolling.

This report comes just a few days after Tom Hardy confirmed Venom is based on Lethal Protector comics, with the actor adding that this character will be very important for the Marvel Universe, during an appearance at Brazil's Comic-Con Experience last weekend. The actor wouldn't clarify what he meant by "Marvel Universe," if he meant the Spider-Man universe Sony is creating,

Sony's upcoming Venom movie has been in production since October, but an exciting new name is in talks to join the already impressive cast: Woody Harrelson. The gig would reunite Harrelson with his Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, who's helming the project based on a script by Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark …
