Jake shows a vulnerable side
2 November 2010 | by (New York) – See all my reviews

Amy and Jake, the couple Dr. Weston has been treating, are two people at the verge of a divorce. Jake resents a lot of Amy's achievements, and she, in turn, is not one to deal with the problems facing their marriage using more common sense. For being a successful woman, one would think she would look at her situation from a different angle.

Jake, on the other hand, a man that shows a tough exterior, for all his posturing, he breaks down when Amy, in a fit, tells him she wants to go ahead with their divorce. Jake is shocked, for what he perceives his life will be without her. In fact, he makes it clear he does not want to lose her.

Paul Weston's patience is tested by these two people sparring in his office. He has to exert his influence in order for them to get on a more civil tone to one another.

Paris Barclay's contribution to the latest episodes give the show a new perspective. His pacing is a bit different that either Rodrigo Garcia's or Chris Misiano. This chapter was written by Merritt Johnson. The acting is the best thing in the series. Gabriel Byrne, Embeth Davidtz and Josh Charles responded effectively to Mr. Barclay's direction.
