Disney - Where dreams come true!
12 July 2008 | by (Greensboro, NC) – See all my reviews

The Gosselins are taking their family of 10 to Disney World...on a road trip that takes 19 hours. Oh my goodness! There is extensive preparations to get them ready, packed and everything. They have to rent a Uhaul trailer to carry all their gear. They decide not to take a plane because they couldn't take all the car seats and would have a hard time renting a van big enough for all of them. Plus it would be expensive - and, hello, 8 kids on a plane ( more scary than "Snakes on a Plane"!)

Beth & 3 family friends also decide to take their family vacation at the same time and join the Gosselins in FL. They are there to help with the kids at the hotel and in the park. They have breakfast with Mickey the 1st day - but the kids are so excited, they don't even eat their breakfast. Then they are off for Magic Kingdom. Kate has constant camera issues. Their 1st ride is Flying Dumbo - everyone loves it. Collin in fact loves it so much, he doesn't want to leave and cries. Kate, who was riding with him, scolds him & says he has to ride with Daddy the rest of the day; "You have been sent to Daddy". I'm not sure that's punishment - sorry Kate!

Then the kids meet the princesses in the rose garden - which leads to the "ice cream incident". Kate has a classic meltdown when the ice cream melts and starts to get on the kids and their clothes. What do you expect - its FL and 100 degrees!? Thats what wipes or bathrooms are for. A little water gets rid of the sticky. In the sofa interview, they ask Kate if she overreacted - she emphatically says "NO "! But Jon just busts out laughing! He says, if it were up to him, he'd just "let the kids have it and bathe in it, who cares!" God bless Jon. Then they watch the parade.

That is all they show from the trip, but they were there for 5 days supposedly. It doesn't elaborate what they did the rest of the time. Everyone was sad to go home, even controlling-Kate who hates to get off routine. For once, she seemed to relax and have a good time (except for the ice cream incident). So good for Kate!

This is an enjoyable show to watch! It is so much fun for the little kids. There is much less sniping when Kate relaxes.

There were some classic quotes from Kate in this episode so I must share! All are said to Jon:

"Why are you so mean to me...When you get home, will you have a better attitude?" (when Jon comes to get the big van from Kate at the hairdresser's)

"But honey, its covering up your receding hairline." - (when Jon wants to take his Mickey ears off)
