Nick Millard delivers a lazy porn film in GUNILLA, perhaps an example of how hardcore kills the cat. In an urge to service the marketplace he strays from his strengths.
Shot in silent MOS mode, film suffers from the usual heavy-handed narration, here a heavily-accented femme pretending to be the voice of Gunilla Ericsson, personified on screen by the busy porn star Suzanne Fields.
Snowy setting at a ski resort is initially promising, but completely wasted by Nick, who seems almost fanatical about "delivering the goods" this time out.
His favorite personal fetish is laid on with a trowel. Fields masturbates with a new pair of high patent-leather black boots, inserting the toe in her vagina, licking them and kissing them. Further bootsploitation is delivered later in the film when she hooks up with a nondescript (except for hideous wig, looking like a tryout for the role of Valentina in BABA YAGA) lesbian who wears the same boots along with long leather gloves for a lesbian tryst with Gunilla, latter purportedly "19 years old" and wearing sexy black stockings and garter belt for the occasion.
In between, we have endlessly boring vistas of snowy roads, Gunilla wandering around aimlessly, and a brief "action" sequence of her riding a snow mobile. No James Bond (or INCEPTION for that matter) use of the locations by Nick.
Departing from his avowed lesbian stance for an important sequence, Nick has Gunilla become a voyeur for 10 minutes or so, very poorly established and edited. She's peering in through a picture window to watch cute Linda York and a bored guy (he reads a book all through the sex act) humping as "newlyweds". It's mainly an endless fellatio scene, but after a handy closeup of a chapter titled "Anal Sex" in that book we see York take it doggy-fashion. It isn't anal sex, just a fake as Nick forgets to provide any telltale closeups. York is unflatteringly styled with a ton of black eye makeup and Guinness Book record-setting false eyelashes.
Final reel is 100% filler, as we're treated to a couple of minutes of "highlights" and then Gunilla sleeping dreams of what is basically a separate loop of some girl with dark nipples playing with herself and a dildo standing up. He clearly needed to pad in order to get close to the requisite hour-long running time.
Interior sex scenes are shot with the usual harsh Nick lighting, throwing looming shadows (yeah, I know some self-taught would-be critic will invoke German Expressionism). It isn't professional but at least his fans dig the clear, full-color shots of vaginas, nipples, etc. In fact, that's all the content he delivers.
