Producers Gil Adler and Shane McCarthy have optioned Matthew Bradford and Alex Leung’s “Night and Fog.”
Originally published by Studio 407 in 2008 as a miniseries by Bradford and Leung along with artists Thomas Aira and Roberto Castro, “Night and Fog” follows a security guard’s attempt to escape a military base that is beset by a seemingly supernatural mist that transforms its victims into unkillable monstrosities.
“When I read this I knew I had to take it off the market,” said Adler in a recent press release. “It’s a great high-concept that blends the gothic horror of the Hammer films with the sci-fi horror of ‘Aliens’ and ‘The Thing.’”
Adler has previously produced several comic related films including “Superman Returns” and “Constantine.” He is also one of the producers of the upcoming “Dead of Night” — an adaptation of the popular Italian comic “Dylan Dog” — starring Brandon Routh.

Frankenstein Mist. You don't see that very often on the evening weather report. Usually it's snow or sunshine. Me? I wanna live in the world where a good old fashioned Frankenstein Mist can turn the world on its ear. Studio 407's comic Night and Fog is just such a world, and it has just been optioned for the big screen!
From the Press Release
Studio 407 announced today that their sci-fi horror property Night and Fog has been optioned for film by renowned producers Gil Adler and Shane McCarthy. No stranger to comic book material, Adler has produced such comic book films as Constantine, Superman Returns, as well as most recently Dead of Night, which was based on the popular Italian comic book Dylan Dog.
Said Adler: “This material is definitely in my strike zone in more ways than one. And having produced the Tales from the Crypt series

Yes, I think it’s safe to say that we can file Sv Bell’s Crawler under the ‘guilty pleasure’ category of the ol’ filing system. Why? Well, this is not only a motorized-vehicles-run-wild film, though it certainly is at least partly that and I’m more than a little pleased to see the peculiarly 80’s sub-genre making a bit of a comeback with this picture and Eric Valette’s Hybrid. And it’s not just a Giant-motorized-vehicle-run-wild film, either. Nope. This, my friends, is a Giant-alien-motorized-vehicle-run-wild film! Because, you see, while the beast on that poster there may appear to be simply a monstrously large bulldozer, it is in fact a cleverly disguised alien creature with a lust for blood.
We ran a teaser for this a while back and now the full length trailer - much superior to the teaser in all facets - has arrived and we

The Weekly Wrap-Up: January 17-23, 2009

Along with the theatrical premieres of both Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Outlander (in some lucky markets), a slew of DVD's hit the street during the week of January 17-23, 2009. And there was a lot of news to cover, too, including the following highlights:
Bad things often happen in threes, but hopefully this trio of trailers will prove the exception. Spend a little time with Wolvesbayne, Quantum Apocalypse, and Chrome Angels and see what you think of their chances.
One film that could easily go either way is The Horseman, Platinum Dunes' next original production after The Unborn. Dennis Quaid's been hit or miss over the years, but Horseman seems to hold some real potential if the new trailer can be trusted. The international poster definitely has a high creep-out factor to it.
I don't see many comments about his contributions, but I sure hope you guys appreciate

Writer Talks Killer Car Flick Hybrid

Last week we had a slew of new trailers to show off to you, one of which was for a new movie from Malefique/One Missed Call (remake) helmer Eric Vallette called Hybrid. Not to be confused with the monster movie of the same name, also in development, this Hybrid is about a predatorial car that eats people. Of course.
Styd got to chat with screenwriter Neal Marshall Stevens about Hybrid recently, and he gave up a bit more information on what it’s about, namely a creature that has perfected the art of camouflage. ”"It functioned by disguising itself and as it moved through history, it disguised itself through different things. And now in the modern age it can disguise itself as cars.” All right, that only makes sense … ”How it would feed is disguise itself as a nondescript car no one would notice during the day and at night it would change,

The writer behind Thirteen Ghosts is immersing himself once again in the world of the supernatural. This week it was announced Neal Marshall Stevens will write Amityville Tapes , the latest installment in the film franchise revolving that sinister abode at 112 Ocean Avenue. MGM has him so tight-lipped about the project he can't even reveal the producers on board. Still, when ShockTillYouDrop.com gets on the phone with Stevens to talk about his latest endeavors there's plenty more discuss, namely Hybrid - not the creature feature in development but the horror film starring Oded Fehr ( Resident Evil: Extinction ) and directed by Eric Valette ( One Missed Call ).
Once known as Hunter , production got underway on Hybrid last year in Regina, Saskatchewan. A promo trailer

Neal Marshall Stevens, screenwriter of the films Thirteen Ghosts and Hellraiser: Deader, has just inked a deal with comic book publisher Studio 407 to pen two comic series: the futuristic action thriller Havoc Brigade and a horror adventure story entitled Demon Squad. Back in Horrorwood, Neal is currently hard at work writing the latest Amityville sequel, The Amityville Tapes. Fangoria sat down with Stevens to ask a few questions about his upcoming series, and the differences between working in the comics industry versus the world of film...
Fangoria: So Neal, how did you get involved with Havoc Brigade, and with Studio-407?
Neal Marshall Stevens: I first met Alex Leung, the head of Studio-407, almost ten years ago, when he was working for New Line Cinema. He was looking for a writer to work on The Ring when it was initially set up there. Unfortunately, it didn't work out but

Malefique’s Eric Valette Is Back On Form. The Trailer For Hybrid Arrives.

Oh, this does my heart good.
Several years back now French director Eric Valette made his feature film debut with Malefique, a film which I adore and believe wholeheartedly is one of the most confident and assured debut films I have ever come across. It was a tight, confined space horror film; one that showed Valette was a master at manipulating location and character to maximum affect and showed he had far more concern for the classics of the genre - Rod Serling and The Twilight Zone in this case - than for any current trends. It’s a truly great film, and one that is horribly underseen.
And so I winced when Valette was announced as the director of the Hollywood remake of One Missed Call, the second rate J-horror film whose original came while the movement was already in its death throes. It came as no surprised when

If you click on over to Bdtv you can check out a promo trailer for Eric (One MIssed Call) Valette's Hybrid, which looks like it was filmed at the same location as P2. The film stars Oded Fehr (from the 'Resident Evil' films) and Shannon Beckner.
Late one night, a mysterious car is brought into the Chicago police impound garage after a deadly traffic accident. The garage's female mechanic, Tilda, and her young, hip fellow mechanics soon discover the car has a mind of its own: it morphs into different cars to confuse them and instead of needing an engine to run, it breathes. It's a killing machine that is capable of outrunning and outwitting humans. In a high-octane fight to the death, it's our group of determined humans versus the car in this supernatural action-adventure in the vein of Stephen King's Christine and Transformers.

A whole slew of trailers have appeared on the official site for Voltage Pictures, the guys behind a lot of cool upcoming horror titles like Eduardo Sanchez’s Seventh Moon. Instead of boring you with multiple stories about one thing, how about one story about multiple things?
Yeah, not sure where I was going with that either. All right, in order of importance (at least to most) here are three of those aforementioned trailers.
Not to be confused with the Studio 407/Myriad film of the same name, though I’m sure it will be, Hybrid is the latest from One Missed Call/Malefique helmer Eric Valette. From the Voltage site:
