Wow, sometimes these shows are tough to watch when they give you examples of justice not being served. Since it's real life, it's not something you shrug off like a movie story. In this case, it's maddening because the jury never heard relevant facts in the case. City Confidential mentions what all of them were, and that the judge wouldn't allow these facts from getting to the jury's ears. That is disgusting. If you watch all of this episode, you'd have to draw the conclusion CC obviously did - a "Black Widow" struck twice and got away with it both times.
Terri Gilbert was her name. At the end of this episode, it's noted that she has changed her name and, reportedly moved to Boston. She's a big woman at 6 feet, 2 inches and fairly solid. She's married again, so beware if you hear of a man shot in his home, the wife saying she thought he was a burglar. Apparently, that's her MO. At least it was in 1996 when husband number two was shot. She claimed it was dark and she couldn't see, but fired three shots and all of them hit the target perfectly in the chest. Hmmm....what's wrong with that picture? The same thing had happened two decades earlier with husband number one.
Her victim in Albuquerque was County Commissioner Gene Gilbert. He was no angel, either, having big-time debt problems. He was trying to finagle his wife into getting money out of her to pay off his big debts. For a favor from her, he would sign the divorce papers she was seeking. These aren't two upstanding citizens, as City Confidential gives us the skinny on both of them.
The only thing that looked good in this episode were the beautiful blue skies of Albuquerque and all those colorful, magnificent hot-air balloons which dot the sky in this area of the country.

It's population is a mixture of Hispanic, Anglo and Indian and most get along very well. The area is famous for it's chilies - green or red - and it's right on Route 66: you can't miss it. Just beware of "Black Widows."
