I was able to obtain several episodes of this truly insane vintage Japanese kiddie show, and trust me when I say that this is some unbelievably whack material. Despite the language barrier, I think I caught the overall premise of this show...as I see it, an octopus and a papaya or gourde of some type are rivals over a sexy female walrus that they are both smitten with. These characters(played by men in bulky suits similar in style to "Grimace" from the old McDonald's TV commercials)run around a cartoonish paper-constructed city park set, constantly flailing their arms and bobbing up and down in fast-motion(it appears that they have to pee...badly!)
Even if I was fluent in Japanese, I suspect the weirdness of "Kure kure takora" would be no less. Do check this out, should the chance come about. It may well redefine your notion of "WTF?".
