This episode of Dinah Shore's show was excellent from a musical standpoint. It contained some rock music, which was very fun to listen to. And because Craig Stevens was present, we have Vera-Ellen dancing to "Peter Gunn," which he was starring in at the time. Oh, and Andre Previn is present as well.
The show's opening had some strange effects where blue/green screen techniques were used. At one point, Dinah is dancing with these figures whose Panama hats, jackets and shows we see, while the rest is invisible. This may have been considered trendy, but it looks very strange, especially given the technology available in 1959.
Still, this is a very solid, fun episode from her show, which I saw recently on WSKG, the PBS affiliate in Binghamton, NY.
