An overwhelming percentage of the people who bought the PC version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game have had trouble getting it to install, to the point of many considering sueing Atari. The simple solution is NOT to do a custom install. Install it to the default directory and everything should be fine.

Some have also suggested, if the above doesn't work the first time, turning off your antivirus software before restarting the installation process (unlike a few other games out there, the instruction booklet for this game makes no mention of this). The game should load normally after doing this.

The Xbox 360 controller is supported (and prefered) by the PC version, but it isn't required for gameplay, since the keyboard and mouse work too. Personally, having tried both input methods, I find gameplay to be far easier using the 360 controller (it lets you play an increasing number of PC games--Fable: The Lost Chapters is, to my knowledge, the earliest of these-- with ease from across your living room, den, or bedroom, wherever your gaming machine happens to be. In addition, as far as this game is concerned, it is all but impossible to aim the equipment, and wrangle the ghosts into the traps, using the mouse.), but not everybody is cut out for using a gamepad. If you happen to be one of those who can't use a gamepad to save your life (like my youngest sister), you'd be better off either avoiding this game entirely or buying the DS or Wii version. Since gameplay for the PC version is, for all intents and purposes, identical to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions (with the 360 version's graphics), and since leaning over the keyboard for hours on end can be hazardous for your upper torso, investing in a Windows-supported gamepad (the PS3's DualShock, "Boomerang", and Sixaxis are not supported by Windows) is the best method.

Confirmed PC games that support the Xbox 360 controller and similar gamepads as of March, 2012:

*Fable: The Lost Chapters

*World of Warcraft (All versions)

*Marvel Ultimate Alliance

*Transformers: The Game

*Spore (Yeah, I was surpised too.)

*Iron Man

*The Incredible Hulk (2008 movie version)

*The Godfather: The Game

*Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Both versions)

*Spider-Man: Heroes and Villains

*The Godfather Part II: The Game

*X-Men Origins: Wolverine

*Ghostbusters: The Video Game

*Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (This game is the reason I finally bought my Xbox 360 controller.)

*Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

*Street Fighter IV

*Need for Speed: Shift (A steering wheel is better, but a gamepad can be used.)

*Batman: Arkham Asylum

*Star Wars: The Clone Wars- Republic Heroes

*Wolfenstein (2009 version)

*James Cameron's Avatar: The Game

*Transformers: War for Cybertron

*Toy Story 3

*Tron Evolution

* Every Sonic the Hedgehog game released through Steam

* Most (if not all) Sega Genesis/MegaDrive games re-released through Steam

* Star Trek Online

* DC Universe Online

* Batman: Arkham City

The PC, PlayStation 2, DS, and PSP versions do not have any multiplayer features at all. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 versions have online multiplayer, while the Wii has local split-screen multiplayer.
