Storyline

Ted has just started dating a woman named Cathy, who he really, really likes. But at the first dinner she has with the gang, it is obvious to Ted that none of the others like her. They refuse to tell him why, he needing to figure out himself her obvious flaw. The reason he may not be able to see her flaw is that he is still trying to sleep with her, that fact which places blind spots in people's perception. When Ted finally finds out the reason, he can't understand why he couldn't see it in the first place and why it didn't bother him before. But in knowing Cathy's flaw, the gang come to the realization that these blinders can also apply to friends. Meanwhile, the results of the bar exam have just been released. Quotes

Lily: Ugh, this is all Ted's fault. Ooh, like he's so perfect, Mr. Corrector.
Robin Scherbatsky: What are you talking about?
Lily: Oh, come on, you dated the guy for a year and didn't notice that most of what he says is correcting you?
[flashback]
Robin Scherbatsky: Oh, can you hand me a Kleenex?
Ted: Actually, Kleenex is a brand, this is a facial tissue.
[flashback; during a movie]
Robin Scherbatsky: Oh my God, is Frankenstein gonna kill that little girl?
Ted: Uh, Dr. Frankenstein isn't in this scene, that's Frankenstein's monster.

An OK Episode
11 December 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Plot In A Paragraph: Ted is once again thinking he has found "the one". When she meets the gang for a meal, it's obvious they all so not like her. To protect him, the guys refuse to tell him what it is, when he finally finds out what it is. Ted responds by turning the tables on his friends, and points out their flaws, and they react by pointing out Ted's worst flaw.

Every show seems to have one of these flaws episodes. "Friends" did it too, where everyone's flaws and faults (that have never been there before, and never will be seen again) are pointed out and highlighted.

All in all it's an OK episode, nothing more nothing less. It has some OK moments, but overall it's pretty forgettable.
