The principal fault is under-exposure of the negative film
deickemeyer9 December 2015
A comedy with spirit and developing numerous humorous situations. Here is a young man, pursued by fate until he is on the verge of suicide, when he is unexpectedly mistaken for a capitalist. The attentions showered upon him are quite overwhelming, but apart from some slight exaggeration in the characters of the real estate men, not impossible. All this excitement affords the real capitalist a chance to make his selection and his purchase unmolested. The principal fault is under-exposure of the negative film. Some of the interiors are positively bad, while others are more in accordance with good photography. A little more time, or a little more light would have made the difference between a good film and a bad one. One scene contains some very serious defects in the film which should be corrected. If these spots and streaks are in the original it should be made over. If in the positive, perhaps other printings are free from them. The picture is not up to the standard of most of the work from this studio. - The Moving Picture World, March 23, 1911
