The military vehicles used by the Gilboa army are Swedish Army vehicles - most notably the Volvo C300-series - with original paint schemes and license plates.

The basic plot of the series is loosely based on the Biblical story of King David, and many of the character and place names are the same as they appear in the Bible. It's assumed if the show continued David would eventually succeed Silas as king.

The skyline of Shiloh, Gilboa is a CGI-altered New York City. The exterior of the Capitol building (Unity Hall) is really the Brooklyn Museum on Eastern Parkway. The interior of the Capitol building (Unity Hall) is really the New York Public Library building.

The character Jonathan is portrayed as being gay. Many scholars have in fact theorized that the Biblical Jonathan may have been homosexual, given the intimacy of his relationship with David.
