Parents Guide for
Homecoming (2009) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

The two central characters have a steamy session in the bathroom which features strong sensuality. The scene between them shows details of Shelby's (Mischa Barton) shirt being ripped open to reveal her bra, and a scene of Mike (Matt Long) unbuckling his belt. A heavy make out session takes place, but nothing else occurs as the character leaves abruptly before any sexuality takes place.

Violence & Gore

This film contains heavy violent content, including a character being run over, kidnapping, Elizabeth's (Jessica Stroup) Achilles Tendon being cut, a central character being murdered by axe then shot in the head, a scene showing the character's dead body being burned, a character being shot in the leg, getting knocked unconscious by both a syrup bottle and a toilet lid. There is also blood, both in the scene with the Achilles Tendon being cut, and when Shelby's (Mischa Barton) character is knocked out you can see blood rushing from her forehead. In the ending sequence, a character has her head bashed in by a football helmet.

Profanity

There is brief strong language that occurs throughout the movie.

Characters are shown consuming alcohol on many occasions, a character gets drunk, and another scene takes place in a bar.

The film contains heavy thriller elements, including a plot revolving around kidnapping, and victim abuse.

There is cannibalism implied. The main villain is shown eating meat too big to be animal's after being showed with an ax preparing to chop a dead man. Very disturbing.
