As Tony-Alexander Hamilton should have learned (it doesn't appear he still has, according to his jail interviews here on this program), you "render under God what is His and to Caesar what is his(paraphrase)." Unfortunately, another man was seriously injured and his police dog killed, in the process of Hamilton's refusal to pay taxes.
Alexander was one of these guys that wanted the open spaces of the West, and just wanted to be left alone - no problem, right? - but he went too far. That privacy, for him, also meant no taxes or refusing to recognize the U.S. government. Well, when you buy houses and earn a living, as we all know, taxes are a part of life.
The gist of the story is that after several altercations with the law, local and federal, Hamilton did the damage above and went to jail for that. Basically, that's it.
We get the usual cast of characters in the City Confidential episode: those who have somewhat extreme views on both sides and some who just preach common sense. City Confidential, to no one's surprise, tries to made added digs at the Mormons here and paint the guy as another "religious nutcase" but how can that be when he and his best friend both state have no belief in God? I wish CC would leave its agendas at home, present us the story, and let us make up our own mine on these cases.
