Elizabeth Ashley, who plays Andrew's grandmother Miss Louise in this episode, is strongly associated with the city of New Orleans. Ashley was raised mostly in Baton Rouge (Miss Louise says that she went to LSU; that was true for Ashley also). Ashley was a close friend of Tennessee Williams (who lived in New Orleans for over 40 years and set many of his plays there) and is one of the preeminent stage interpreters of his female characters. Starting with her performance as Maggie in a 1974 Broadway revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," she has played nearly all of Williams's female leads. She also had a role in the beloved early 2010s TV series Treme, which was set and shot in New Orleans.
