Lionsgate is aiming to bring Jigsaw back from the grave for yet another deadly game, with the studio actively developing Saw VIII. The last entry in the franchise, Saw 3D, hit theaters in October 2010.
The studio is currently seeking a new direction for the horror soap opera, which essentially paved the way for micro-budget thrillers such as Paranormal Activity and The Purge. There was speculation that Lionsgate wanted to reboot the entire concept, although insiders claim the studio wants to simply continue Jigsaw's story with yet another true sequel.
Lionsgate is reportedly in no rush to bring Jigsaw back to theaters, taking its time in seeking a new direction for the profitable horror series. It isn't known if they plan to make this next project in 3D or not.
Some more behind-the-scenes images have surfaced from the set of Saw V director David Hackl's new film, Endangered (formerly Red Machine), and they leave us wondering just where the hell is this flick already?
The latest set of images below show off one of the film's main set pieces, the old Trapper’s cabin. The article from which they come also states that the flick, when it finally does arrive, may be a 3D conversion.

I think most people will be sold by the mere idea of a grizzly bear thriller starring Billy Bob Thornton. In case that doesn’t, Billy Bob Thornton has set out to give Red Machine a synopsis in his own words. Check it out:
James Marsden (X Men, Enchanted) and Thomas Jane (Hung, yes, and so good in The Mist) are a pair of estranged brothers who enter the wilderness. Marsden, fresh out of jail, is the ne’er-do-well who has come home to settle somed unfinished business. Jane is the town sheriff who helps his fiancée track the local fauna. Their outing in the great white north takes off, but goes horribly south when they are attacked, then relentlessly pursued by a monstrous and seriously territorial grizzly bear. This is clearly not Yogi Bear or Gentle Ben territory because this particular specimen of Ursus arctos horribilis goes by the nickname Red Machine. »

One project we haven't heard about in a bit is Red Machine, the man-versus-nature thriller directed by David Hackl (Saw V) and starring James Marsden, Piper Perabo, Thomas Jane, Billy Bob Thornton, Scott Glenn, Kelly Curran, Michaela McManus and Adam Beach. While we await release plans for the film (we're told it has found a home and is awaiting a release date), let's turn our attention to Thornton's official site where the man explains the film in his own word...

What’s the deal: The mysterious death of a childhood friend, who also happens to be a modern-day wealthy socialite, causes Detective Joanna Locasto, played by Californication’s Meagan Good (Think Like a Man, Saw V) to go back undercover as a guest of the family she grew up with, as a servant’s daughter, to find out the truth. The cast for this includes Alias’ Victor Garber, The O.C. and Damages’ Tate Donovan, and Breakout Kings’ Laz Alonso. This series replaces the apocalyptic drama Revolution on NBC’s schedule during the latter’s extended hiatus and is created by Liz Heldens, who wrote for Friday Night Lights as well as the Us version of Prime Suspect.
