George A. Romero Is Planning a Nascar Zombie Movie

George A. Romero Is Planning a Nascar Zombie Movie
Horror legend George A. Romero is teaming up with a frequent collaborator for his next zombie movie, which will be seeking buyers at the Fantasia International Film Festival market this summer. The new project is entitled Road of the Dead, which George A. Romero co-wrote with Matt Birman, who is slated to direct this project. It isn't clear when production may begin, but this project will be just the director's second feature film, although he has spent decades in other areas of production.

IndieWire reports that this project originated from a Matt Birman pitch from roughly 10 years ago. The story is set on a remote island where zombie prisoners race cars in a modern-day Coliseum, all for the entertainment of affluent humans. The director describes the project as a hybrid of Road Warrior and Rollerball, set at a Nascar race, and that there is "significant inspiration" from the iconic 1959 classic Ben-Hur.

As Bones Mourns, Sully Returns — to Stir Up Trouble for Brennan and Booth?

On Tuesday’s Bones (Fox, 9/8c), that question will be answered for Brennan when her ex-boyfriend Sully returns a decade after the two split up. Unfortunately, the character’s surprising reappearance — “I never thought that it would happen. I always hoped it would,” his portrayer Eddie McClintock says — is brought on by some sad news.

Richard Kelly is planning to make a new Donnie Darko sequel

Kirsten Howard Jan 26, 2017

In what is either the worst or best idea he's ever had, director Richard Kelly is plotting a return to his Donnie Darko universe...

Cult favourite Donnie Darko has held up well since its release in 2001. The time travel flick was an unexpected minor hit with moviegoers around the world, especially on home release, and launched the career of Jake Gyllenhaal into the stratosphere.

Gyllenhaal played the titular character of the film, a teenager plagued by apocalyptic visions of a rabbit-suited man who eventually leads him to his grisly fate, accompanied by an 80s-themed soundtrack that is now virtually impossible to separate from the film's events.

An inevitable sequel followed in 2009, S. Darko, which focused on Donnie's little sister Samantha. The film was objectively a bit of a mess,

Shooter: season 2 will end early, because of star's injury

Joseph Baxter Rob Leane Jul 27, 2017

Ryan Phillippe has broken his leg, so Shooter season 2 will stop after 8 episodes (instead of the originally-intended 10)...

While the 2007 Mark Wahlberg-starring suspense thriller Shooter wasn’t the kind of box-office blowout hit that would conventionally yield further revisiting, USA nevertheless decided to make a go of a television series adaptation. While its would-be summer 2016 premiere was delayed, mired in the content-sensitive aftermath of the Baton Rogue police shootings, its eventual November premiere yielded good results. Consequently, a second season was ordered.

That second season has already started airing, but now it's hit problems.

Today, we're hearing that this second season will be shorter than previously expected. The original order was for ten episodes, but production is now stopping after eight because the show's star, Ryan Phillippe, has broken his leg.

The injury took place off set, and was described as a "freak" incident during

The Librarians Season 3 Episode 4 Review: And the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

  • TVfanatic
What to do when faced with the inevitability of your own demise?

Find a loophole, of course! In The Librarians Season 3 Episode 4, Eve Baird discovered that she had a supernatural hit out on her and unsurprisingly did not sit around and wait for her impending doom.

Really, though, the moral of this story should be "Listen to Jenkins."

Seriously, though, you would think that the Librarians, knowing full well that Jenkins is a centuries-old immortal being, would pay more attention to him.

Of course, had they done that, there really wouldn't have been much of an episode, now would there?

What will happen to the swim team? After all, they did cheat on their tests, and Tyson admitted as much in front of the principal.

While they might not face direct consequences (presumably, the Librarians confiscated all the magic goggles), they will have problems if they use their inflated scores

The CW brings in new writer for Clive Barker’s Weaveworld adaptation

Last year it was announced that Clive Barker was executive producing a TV adaptation of his 1987 novel Weaveworld alongside Jack Kenny (Warehouse 13), although the script did not make it to pilot.

Well, it looks like The CW is now taking a secodn stab at the fantasy horror, with Deadline revealing that Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D) has now signed on to pen a new script, which still has Barker involved as Ep.

The project is said to be a priority for the network, and will follow “two ordinary people who find themselves on a quest to find and protect a magical realm and ultimately to save all of humanity from an evil force.”

Iron Fist Writer Working On The Marvel/Hulu Series Runaways

You know the House of Mouse likes to keep things in the family. I know a good number of people over at Disney, and it's one of those places that once you're foot is in the door, you have a real potential to rise from within. While I can't necessarily speak as to whether or not that culture extends to its subsidiaries, I'm certain it does to some degree, especially on the TV front.

We haven't seen a whole lot from Netflix's upcoming series Iron Fist just yet, but if Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and (based on early reviews) Luke Cage are any indication, we may be in for a real unique treat. However, there seems to be some news that may be our first indication that Marvel Entertainment is pleased with the work done on Iron Fist.

On Twitter, someone by the name of Tamara Becher, a TV writer who

Zoo Season 2 Episode 5 Review: The Moon and the Star

They really did it.

Things were a little bit confusing surrounding the promotion of Zoo Season 2 Episode 4. The official trailer said something like, "One of these people won't make it to the end of the hour," and proceeded to show shots including the main characters, as well as that wooded fiasco with the money thugs.

So when the money thugs wound up bear, wolf and tiger chow (or something) and Chloe's life was hanging in the balance when the credits rolled, Chloe could have been safe.

No such luck.

At the beginning of Zoo Season 2 Episode 5, Chloe barely had time to mutter the words Caraquet and courier (if we learned what the latter means by now, well, I was too damned involved to hear it) before drifting away as a heartbroken Jackson cried above her.

What The Hell?

Poor Jackson. They had that one sweet, free moment of kissing before
