- Gogoud: Good day, my name is Gogoud; a former magician. Today, I am the guardian of time, hah-hah, I've already done all the more mundane jobs.
- [clears throat]
- Gogoud: Right, the reason I've come down to Earth for a moment is to tell you the legend of the great knight, Hype. A very long time ago in the kingdom of Torras, King Taskan IV and his queen Lyzoth were celebrating the end of the civil war and had invited everyone to a fabulous banquet. Hype was the champion of the kingdom and to reward him for his loyal services, Queen Lyzoth presented him with a powerful sword of peace. This was a great honor and everyone was delighted, especially his betrothed, Vibe,
- [chuckles]
- Gogoud: . But at the very same moment, a terrible black knight appeared; such a mysterious being had never been seen before. The black knight advanced toward the king and demanded the throne. Courageously, at this dramatic moment, Hype stepped forward but unfortunately, the black knight was too strong for him. No one knows how he managed to transform Hype into a statue. Then he cast the statue aside and flung him deep into the past. And guess where the statue of Hype turned up two hundred years earlier. In the courtyard of my manor, I was an apprentice magician at the time.
- [chuckles]
- Gogoud: I was young and inexperienced.
- [laughs]
- Gogoud: Yes, Hype triumphed! This really is my favorite story and all the more because I was part of it.
- [laughs]
- Gogoud: And what happens now? I could tell you that peace is restored, that nature reasserts herself, that Hype and Vibe inspire the people. But to what purpose? You could see all that for yourself. Is there a moral to the story? Something like, be humble and life will smile on you? Good will triumph in all of us? Bah! All you need to know is that Hype, Vibe and the people of the kingdom knew how to make up for lost time. This time that passes so quickly. I know a little bit about that, as I'm the one who deals with it.
- Zatila: [after being fatally wounded by Voydh, Barnak's dragon] L... leave me, Hype. You- you have more important things to do. It was I who gave the sword of Peace to Lyzoth... and I am happy that you have it now. You have shown me that not all men are evil... I must leave you now... You didn't know what you were offering me... when you gave me... the breastplate. Be- before I go... I'll give you back its... its power... then... I shall still- still... be with you. Go...
- Gogoud: [Appearing before Hype in a ghost-like form] My friend, appearing before you requires a great deal of energy. I can't speak to you for long. Don't be surprised. In recognition of my work the Gods have made me the "Guardian of Time", and it is in this capacity that I address you. Barnak is preparing an attack much more terrifying than anything he has done before. His tower isn't a tower, it's a huge sundial. Barnak wants to use it to extend his domination over eternity. To stop him, Hype, you must go back to the Lost City. You're expected there...
- Nohlin: [as an elderly woman] Hello Hype... I knew you'd come through this door one day... I'm pleased to see you again. But I don't like your seeing me like this. How have I managed to stay here alone, in spite of the black guards? I make them think I'm an old, mad woman. Ha! It makes them laugh and they leave me alone. I'm alright in this forest... but I miss seeing the sky... the moon, the sun... I know you'll help me see all that again. But first you must go to Torras... you must see Vibe again and renew the contact with your real life... and I shouldn't be part of that. Good luck, Hype...
- Nohlin: [when approached a second time] Have a good life, Hype...
