Originally, Yann Moix's Podium star Benoît Poelvoorde was signed on for the main role, but bowed out at the last minute, delaying the film significantly. Before Franck Dubosc, the role was then offered to Jean Dujardin, who passed on the project (a fact which is referenced in the finished film).
