Although the makers of Downfall (2004), and its origin work Im toten Winkel - Hitlers Sekretärin (2002), claimed that Traudl Junge had never previously given interviews about her wartime experiences, in fact in 1973 she was filmed for this episode of World At War, telling the story of her time in Hitler's bunker in almost perfect English.
Captions for footage showing the aerial bombing of Dresden identifies the photographing aircraft as an Avro Lancaster belonging to "Squadron no. 463". This is likely No. 463 Squadron, RAAF, an Australian unit formed in the United Kingdom in 1943. The aircraft that filmed the attack was likely one of several 463 Lancasters specially equipped with cameras to record combat missions for intelligence and morale boosting purposes. In that capacity, the unit also famously captured the destruction of the German Battleship Tirpitz during Operation Catechism.
