A male student is shot and killed while jogging in the rain at midnight on the college track. Boxer and Jacobi soon learn he was implicated with a friend in the rape of a co-ed, but no charges were ever filed due to poor evidence. Suspicion falls on the rape victim, but she seems incapable of the crime, and has an alibi provided by about 40 party-goers. Her ex-boyfriend, her parents, and even her other accused rapist all fall under suspicion. Meanwhile Lindsay's relationship with a man who is leaving the country in a week heats up -- much to the delight of her co-workers who have started an office pool to gamble when she will sleep with her new boyfriend.
