15 Silly Things That Have Won Golden Globes

11 December 2014 3:50 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

No one would accuse the Hollywood Foreign Press Association of being a refined institution, but when you think about the kinds of movies, TV shows, actors, and actresses who've ended up with Golden Globes, it's actually staggering how the HFPA has gotten away with maintaining its image as a must-see event. Drunk people at the dais is, I guess, still a sufficient enough reason to tune in. Let's celebrate today's nominations with a fond look back at some silly things that have won Golden Globes. 1. "Green Card" (Best Motion Picture -- Comedy) What a classic. Nothing says "comedic wonderful good times" like Gerard Depardieu and Andie MacDowell mixing it up in an immigration romcom. Fun fact: My aunt saw this movie in Germany, noticed the reaction of the crowd, and was embarrassed on America's behalf. 2. Twiggy (Best Newcomer of the Year, Actress) I love Twiggy! She was great as a »

Janel Parrish's DWTS Blog: 'It's Really Nice to Be Back with Val'

20 October 2014 5:30 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Janel Parrish is best known for playing Mona Vanderwaal on the TV drama Pretty Little Liars. She's been paired with pro Val Chmerkovskiy for season 19 of Dancing with the Stars, and she'll be blogging for People about her experience on the hit ABC show. Dancing to a Jessie J song knowing that she would be a guest judge definitely put the pressure on last week! I'm a huge fan and I wanted to make sure that we did that song justice. I think she was a little shocked seeing the song she wrote for her mom being taken in a racy way, »

Janel Parrish Defends Racy 'Dancing' Burlesque

14 October 2014 11:01 AM, PDT | Access Hollywood | See recent Access Hollywood news »

"Pretty Little Liars" star Janel Parrish told Access Hollywood last week that her burlesque for Monday's "Dancing with the Star's" was going to be "real naughty" – and she and pro partner Artem Chigvintsev delivered on her promise.

Janel and Artem, who were paired for Switch Up week, were met with some criticism after heating up the ballroom.

"There’s no denying that was extremely sexy, but to me, that was not burlesque," Julianne Hough told the pair. "Burlesque has a cheekiness and quirkiness… that was really raunchy and sexy.”

DWTS: Which Celeb Threw His Partner a Little Too Much?

13 October 2014 7:30 PM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

No one got eliminated Monday on Dancing with the Stars but there were lots of new - and hazardous! - moves going on under the mirror ball. "Bang Bang" singer Jessie J had the unenviable task of guest judging on a night that involved switch ups among the duos - and not everybody got the partner they deserved. (Tough luck, Michael Waltrip!) Here's how everyone scored: Antonio Sabato Jr. and Allison Holker. It was hard for the soap star to keep up with the well-toned pro while doing Bollywood - but hanging above the floor via a cable was a big crowd pleaser! »

8 Strange Moments from James Franco’s New Book

11 September 2014 12:16 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

What do Elizabeth Taylor, Lindsay Lohan and James Franco have in common? They’re all prominently featured in James Franco’s new book, “Hollywood Dreaming.”

His sixth book won’t hit bookshelves until Sept. 23, but Variety took an early peek to pick out some of the most notable snippets in the collection of stories, photos and poems, which is broken up into three parts, along with an introduction.

There’s a section titled “Sprang Brake,” in which Franco seems to channel his “Spring Breakers” character Alien. There are no fewer than four different poems about Sean Penn. There’s some inside information on what went down before the Oscars that he hosted with Anne Hathaway. And there’s a lot of Lindsay Lohan.

The entire volume clocks in at 174 pages, so there’s plenty more than what’s featured here, including bits about Franco’s life and childhood.
