Burlesque has exploded as an art form in recent years, with performers of all ages, creeds, and styles coming together to celebrate the ridiculous splendor and skill of hopping up on stage and baring it all (or most) as a larger-than-life character. As with any nascent movement, there have been questionable efforts in the past to try to capture what makes burlesque so fun—looking at you, Cher and Christina Aguilera—but fans of the tease are in luck, with a new documentary here to serve as an easy entry point for its gaudy, fantastical world.
Titled Burlesque: Heart Of The Glitter Tribe, and directed by Jon Manning, the doc hopes to explore every aspect of the burlesque world; not just sexuality, but playfulness, goofiness, and artistry as well. We’ve got a clip from the film for you, viewable above, discussing the intersections between the craft and burlesque movements »

The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star put on a big show for his 40th birthday Saturday night after confirming his appearance as a male entertainer with Men Untamed at the Atlantic City, New Jersey hotspot. However, he did not actually strip.
Exclusive: Jon Gosselin Confirms He's Performing as a Stripper in New Jersey, Calls It 'a Blessing'
Gosselin's performance was far more tame than anticipated, as he instead showed off his dance moves rather than his bare assets. While fully clothed, he strutted his stuff to Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back," Ginuwine's "Pony" and Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy." The former TLC reality star also did take off his shirt, only to reveal a tank top underneath adorned with a picture of a six-pack, according to E! News »
Burlesque: it’s more than just a Cher movie from a couple of years ago! That (okay, maybe not exactly that) is what Joe Manning’s new documentary “Burlesque: Heart of the Glitter Tribe” sets out to prove.
The new documentary, which follows twelve performers who get open and honest about this exotic art form, explores the world of burlesque and its growing popularity across the U.S. It invites audiences to get up close and personal with the people who combine striptease with modern dance, comedy, and even — wait for it — fire acts for a living.

Cher‘s got you, Flint.
The 70-year-old Oscar winner has tapped her next project — a Lifetime original movie about the water-contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan.
The upcoming film, titled Flint, examines the politics and poor management that lead to the poisoning of the Michigan water, Deadline reports — and the residents whose voices and suffering were ignored.
Cher will play a Flint resident whose family is impacted by the crisis.
It’s a fitting role for the actress and singer. She’s been outspoken on social media about the crisis, donating bottled water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan in the thousands. »

Cher will star in Lifetime’s TV movie “Flint” about the water contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan, Variety has confirmed.
In addition to starring, Cher will also serve as executive producer with Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, and Katie Couric, who are all producing. Bruce Beresford will direct, and Barbara Stepansky is writing. The telepic — which was first announced last spring — has not been officially greenlit yet, but is expected to begin production this spring, according to Deadline, which first broke news of Cher’s casting. Sony Television is the studio.
Unlike other Lifetime TV movies, the project is expected to be a hard-hitting fact-based drama. It will explore the events that led to the toxic crime and will shed light on politics of the poor management and the human element of residents who suffered and were ignored. Cher will play a local Flint resident whose family is impacted by the water crisis.
