A decent little DBZ movie with a cool villain
9 April 2015 | by (San Antonio) – See all my reviews

Time for another Dragon Ball Z movie and this time it involves Frieza's brother looking for revenge against Goku. Like a lot of these movies, it is always hard to pinpoint when these movies take place in the timeline of DBZ, but it won't matter if the movie is entertaining. While it offers some good moments and a good villain, it settles on just being average.

Good: I like that the movie gets to the point. You get set-up, the introduction, and the action at a good pace. The action is swift and eye-catching. Cooler is a good villain with confidence and dastardly swagger.

Bad: I wished it was actually turned into a saga in the DBZ universe. While the quick pace was good for the movie, I still would've liked to see Cooler fleshed out and more about his relationship with Frieza and how he will take out Goku. Also, there is some filler in here despite being under an hour which is just something DBZ is known for.

Overall, it is an entertaining movie with a "cool" villain, but I believe it would have worked better as an actual saga on the show.
