Storyline

Perennially perky Elle Woods is a girl who loves to be pampered and shop for the latest all-pink outfits (and matching handbags, of course). But don't let this seemingly ditsy fashionista fool you, this sorority sister is smarter than she seems and doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone "more serious," Elle sets out to win him back by putting down the credit card and hitting the books. Ready to revamp her image, Elle goes where no Delta Nu sorority girl has gone before: Harvard Law School! Takes you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway's blondest new student, that daredevil in high heels Elle Woods (who has the cutest sidekick in the world, her Chihuahua Bruiser). Along the way, our heroine proves that being yourself and going after what you want never goes out of style. Written by Anonymous

Paulette: I don't know, Elle! Dewey scares the crap outta me!
Elle Woods: Channel that fear! Remember! You are a strong independent woman and you must be reunited with your dog.
Emmett Forrest: Anyone who bakes their dog a birthday cake deserves nothing less.
Paulette: Oh! And it's shaped like a BONE!
Elle Woods: And that kind of devotion cannot be ignored.
Paulette: Well, it's not easy to find dog-friendly chocolate substitutes.

Legally Blonde: The Musical
11 January 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This is a high energy musical with a genuine feel good factor to it. The songs supplied by the husband and wife team of Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin are excellent; the choreography is spectacular; and the dialogue leaves nothing to be desired.

Laura Bell Bundy plays the not-so-dumb blonde Elle to perfection; the odious Professor Callahan is another character who stands out, just in case you'd forgotten why so many people hate lawyers. After being left high and dry, Elle comes good, and we'd like to think, lives happily ever after having learned the hard way that Warner, the man of her dreams, was not worthy of her, even if she could somehow win him back.

If any criticism can be made of this musical it is that some of the songs are more excellent than others.
