Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, »

James Gunn says the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy will “tell one story”

21 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Last week James Gunn confirmed that he’s set to return to the director’s chair for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and speaking to Variety at the premiere for Guardians Vol. 2, the filmmaker has been speaking about his plans for the trilogy, revealing that the three movies will “tell one story”.

“I think really that the three movies work together as a whole,” said Gunn. “They’re going to tell one story. This is the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and we’re going to get to know the characters even better in the same way we got to know them much better in this film than the first one. I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t have a fairly clear idea of where we were going and what we were going to do. I’m not a guy that’s »

Warning. Minor spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 follow…

Back in April of last year some set photos from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrived online showing movie posters from the ‘Simon Williams Film Festival’, which also revealed that Nathan Fillion is portraying the character of Simon Williams, better known to Marvel comic book fans as Wonder Man.

As we await the release of the film (which is out a week today here in the UK), Fillion has taken to Instagram to share in image from a deleted scene from the hotly-anticipated sequel…

Update: As confirmed by director James Gunn, the image isn’t exactly from a deleted scene, but rather Fillion having some fun on set. That being said, it does sound like Fillion’s scene has been cut… »

Sons of Anarchy ended with a bang after seven seasons of carefully plotted motorcycle gang mayhem. Now, Kurt Sutter is heading back to the universe with Mayans Mc, which deals with the Mayans Motorcycle Club. The Mayans were variously allied and opposed to the Reapers gang in the original show and were an interesting south of the border contrast to the California setting.

The new series will focus on prospective member Ezekiel “Ez” Reyes, the gifted son of a proud Latino family living near the California/Mexico border. It opens with his “American dream snuffed out by cartel violence,” propelling Ez towards crime as a way of enacting retribution. But once you’re in this lifestyle, there’s no escape.

It’ll be the third show for FX from creator Kurt Sutter, coming after global hit Sons of Anarchy and The Bastard Executioner. To ensure that »

Adam Warlock was originally in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, will likely appear in Vol. 3

21 April 2017 5:41 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Given the key role he plays in The Infinity Gauntlet storyline of Marvel Comics, there’s been a lot of speculation as to whether Adam Warlock would have been introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe prior to next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, with many expecting him to have featured in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Well, speaking to Slash Film to promote the release of the hotly-anticipated sequel, director James Gunn has revealed that Warlock was part of his early plans for the film, although he felt the roster was getting a little crowded and decided to keep him back for a future film.

“I love Adam Warlock,” said Gunn. He’s one of my favorite characters. In all truth, I wrote an early treatment where I had Adam Warlock as a part…this is your big scoop, because I don’t think I’ve told anybody this… »

The Lost City Of Z – Review

20 April 2017 9:51 PM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Excuse the twisting of a beloved comedian’s signature tune, but this new film’s theme could be “Hooray for Captain Fawcett, the Bolivian explorer!”. That’s Captain Percy Fawcett, to be specific. He’s the newest movie jungle adventurer, in the vein of Jungle Jim and Indiana Jones, except he was a real person. And he was the subject of a recent best-selling book. Now his exploits from nearly one hundred years ago have finally made it to the big screen. So is his quest to find The Lost City Of Z worthy of a far less treacherous trek to the local multiplex?

In 1906 Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) was a respected member of the British Royal Artillery, especially after shooting a stag during a big hunting competition. He’s got a beautiful supportive wife Nina (Sienna Miller) and an adorable tot named Jack. Unfortunately his military career has stalled, »

Chris Pratt on his different approach to the music of Awesome Mix Vol. 2

20 April 2017 7:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

If there is one thing that everyone remembers about Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s the music. Seriously, when was the last time you saw people jamming out to the music of Redbone in their car prior to the release of Guardians of the Galaxy? What about The Raspberries? Charlie Hunnam’s Dumb-Dumbs Are Anything But Humdrum

20 April 2017 6:51 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

The actor has made a career out of musclebound oddballs.

Charlie Hunnam gets a bad rap. The former model has attempted to make a name for himself as a leading man, but his unique brand of meatheadedness is quite different to the competent and suave badasses making up the A-list of action. He’s no Jason Bourne. There’s no way he’d pull off billionaire/playboy/superhero. That’s not what he’s after. His characters all — like the man himself — strain against their muscles as physical limitations to their introspective spirits. They want to be poets and writers and academics, but find themselves damned by their bodies, faces, lifestyles, and fates. In performing these roles, Charlie Hunnam has perfected the long-suffering wannabe-intellectual tough guy. He does this to great effect in the gorgeous slow-burn adventure The Lost City of Z, which expands this weekend, but first, let’s look at how he got here.

Michael Rosenbaum teases his ‘important role’ in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is just a few weeks away, and there are still some things we don’t know. Although we found out the identity of Sylvester Stallone’s character earlier this week, it remains a mystery as to who Michael Rosenbaum is playing. However, the actor himself has given a few clues as to his role during the red carpet premiere of the film last night.

“Well, I’m in the movie, and I can’t really say the role I’m playing because James Gunn swore me to secrecy,” said Rosenbaum. “But it’s with Stallone, and it’s an important role. I’m not allowed to say anything other than that. I can’t wait to see it, I haven’t seen it, and I’ve been waiting a year to be able to say something. So it’s really exciting, I’m really excited. »

James Gunn reveals how he pitched Ego the Living Planet to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige

19 April 2017 5:30 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

When Guardians of the Galaxy was first announced, many were sceptical that such a bizarre idea could achieve success in mainstream cinema. It took Marvel a long time to build up to The Avengers, and for the general public to root for the likes of Thor and Iron Man. So, how were they going to get everyone immediately on board with a talking racoon, and a one-phrase humanoid tree? Well, we know how that turned out. However, director James Gunn has revealed that prior to Guardians’ massive success, he was hesitant to reveal any further plans to Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige. In this case: Ego the Living Planet as Star Lord’s father.

Speaking to Cinemablend, Gunn goes into greater detail, stating that: “I knew who Ego was as a character, I knew what he was able to do, but I didn’t initially know I was going to »

Spoilers: Sylvester Stallone’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 role confirmed

As critics around major territories gear up for the first official press screenings of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the film’s production notes have detailed some interesting things, including the cameo role for Sylvester Stallone.

While it was expected that he would play a Ravager companion to Yondu, there is much more to the character. The production notes regarding Sylvester Stallone read: “Stakar had banished Yondu many years earlier for doing something wrong and he finally sees him almost twenty years later at this particular establishment called the Iron Lotus where all of the Ravagers go to blow off some steam. And then we have a confrontation which is pretty intense and it’s kind of a father/son type of thing and now he’s going to have to pay the piper. His karma has come back ten-fold.”
