Storyline

Simon Neary is a gangster Gene has wanted to nail for years. When the team discovers that his latest deal is to obtain guns, the case takes on another imperative for Alex. Is stopping the guns a way to stop herself getting shot in 2008? Gene is shocked by how far Alex is prepared to go, including trying to persuade Neary's young boyfriend to turn informant. Russell Tovey appears in this episode as a gay young man in love with a gangster. As he is about to set his lover up, Russell walks towards him singing "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye, cheerio here I go on my way" under his breath. Russell played Rudge from The History Boys (2006), which has Russell and the other boys singing this song at several times. See more »

Goofs

When where Alex takes Marcus back to his parents' house, when Alex gets out of the car a satellite television dish can clearly be seen on the house over the road. Satellite TV did not become commercially available in the UK until 1989. The dish itself appears to be a Sky Digital mini-dish, which only became available in 1998. See more »
