When Cody is talking Dick and Penny into going to the crash site, he says "My old man just got one of them new Polaroid cameras, you know, like instant pictures?"

After a short discussion among the characters, Dick then asks "With what? A-a paranoid camera?" demonstrating that to them, the Polaroid was indeed new, and in Dick's case, unheard of.

At the time in which the movie is set, Polaroid cameras had been in production for about ten years, and were actually quite well known.

Revealing mistakes

When Officer Barnes radios the Chief to let him know that there's been "a PDX, Vern's down" and asks "What should I do now, Chief?", the radio makes a noise like he's released the button, even though his thumb is still firmly pressing it. He continues to hold the button as he waits for an answer from the Chief, only releasing it to press it down again and repeat, "Chief?".
