Mayweather-McGregor PPV Fight Could Punch Up $700M Worldwide, Making Domestic Box Office Meaningless
On Saturday night, a pay-per-view event stands to score an estimated U.S. take of $500M-plus. If it were a movie, that figure easily would land in the list of 10 top-grossing films of all time. Obviously we’re taking about the boxing match between the undefeated, five-division, 11-time world boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr., 40, and Irish Ufc lightweight champ Conor McGregor, 29, aka “The Money Fight,” which will air live from the 20K-seat T-Mobile arena in Paradise…...

Having worked as an actor, editor, musician, director, producer, stuntman, and model-maker in his nearly three decades in filmmaking, Adam Boster knows the industry inside and out, and he's using that knowledge to help independent filmmakers get the most bang for their buck at Boster Castle Studios, a studio in the Midwest that takes a practical, efficient approach to making movies, with ample amounts of resources available for directors.
With the new film Slasher.com now on DVD and VOD, we caught up with Boster for our latest Q&A feature to discuss producing and acting in the new movie from Chip Gubera, as well as working with Casper Van Dien in the upcoming movie Darkness Reigns and what the future holds for Boster Castle Studios.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Adam. What attracted you to the story of Slasher.com and your character, Agent Hunter?...

I’m a huge fan of martial arts flicks, be they traditional wuxia titles or modern Mma-inspired b-movies, my DVD shelves are pretty much weighed down by fight flick after fight flick. Despite the lack of shelf space that is currently upon me, the chance to check out and add a new kick-ass film to my collection can never be passed up. So when I spotted Submission on the shelves of my local Asda I knew I had to have it. It also didn’t hurt that the film is littered with a cast of familiar names and faces, including Ernie Reyes Jr., who starred in a couple of my childhood favourites: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 and Surf Ninjas.

They're not the only two releases on the plate this week, but they're the two which are most likely to divide audiences. Shane Acker's "9" has been something of a staple on MTV Movies Blog these past few months. I caught a screening over the summer and very much enjoyed what I saw.
Produced by Tim Burton and "Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov, "9" is set in a stitchpunk dystopian future in which humans have been eradicated. All that remains are robotic contraptions and little beings made of sackcloth. It's a short movie -- roughly 75 minutes -- but it gets in, tells a compelling story and then gets out with exceptional economy. You won't be left with many questions when the credits roll even though there's a relative absence of heavy exposition. In summation, "9" is short and sweet. Check out our coverage of "9" all this week on MTV Splash Page for exclusive clips,...
