I can't believe how boring this installment was. Darren Lynn Bousman - director of "Saw 2-4" - doesn't exactly top my list of favorite horror directors though I expected a little more out of "New Years Day". A girl wakes up the morning after New Years Eve to find that the world has been over-run by zombies. With numerous flashbacks to last night's party scattered in there, we just see her stumbling around crying - the rest is just relationship banter which is clearly filler for this SLICE of an hour long movie. Nothing happens! It actually felt more like a TRAILER to a movie I don't want to see! Granted, this new "Fear Itself" compilation is littered with it's share of inferiors, though this is definitely the worst... Skip it.
