The title was changed from Red Snow to The Sacrifice when it refused to snow during the shoot. Director Breck Eisner: "It snowed before I got there and after I left."
New to the horror genre, Jesse Plemons' (Lemmon) first experience involved his being suspended from a ceiling all night long. "I have a new respect for every actor that I've seen in a horror movie," he says. "When you're upside down and there's blood dripping off your head into a pan, there isn't a lot of acting involved and you just kind of have to react."
