Eric Roberts should've lost 60 pounds...
14 June 2008 | by See all my reviews

Comparable to the Machinist or Session 9 (or Sounds Like), this episode falls flat, but it is far from bad. The problem with this one is the runtime and that after an excellent beginning, the script looses its intensity approaching the end; the explanation of the whole thing leaves a sort of weird and disappointing taste in your mouth. But, I don't feel any other director could have pulled up a better job than Anderson. The creepiness, tension, and dread is all there, and Eric Roberts does an excellent performance as the troubled investigator.

This psychological Horror explores the demons of an ex-cop turned private investigator, who on his recent job must reside in a "haunted" house to spy on a cheating couple on the house across the street. The script isn't perfect, the effects aren't amazing, and it isn't incredibly scary or anything like that. It is better than most though. The acting is spot on, especially Roberts; he really surprised me. The ending, although lackluster and rushed, is alright. And it is good to see Jack Noseworthy again.

Anyways, this is by far the episode yet, and next weeks episode looks even better than this one (Clifton Collins Jr and Ronny Yu?! What the f*ck?! Sign me up!) .We'll just have to see. An average 6.
