An amazing effort from High Impact Games
6 October 2017 | by See all my reviews

This review is more so aimed at the PSP version of this game, but I'll dabble in the PS2 version as well later on in this review. In my experiences with this game, it is almost as great as the original trilogy on the PS2 with its great gameplay and original story. It's probably one of the most funnest games on the PSP as it not only brought me back to playing the original trilogy, but it also showed me something new. The visuals are great for being on the PSP, as it's almost as good as the PS2 games. The only real difference between the graphics here and the graphics on the Ratchet and Clank trilogy on the PS2 is that the framerate is lower than the PS2 games, but that's nothing to worry about as it still performed very well and is still smooth for the most part. The PS2 version of this game, however, isn't as good as the PSP version. The reason being is because of how buggy and how low resolution it is. It's almost is as if they just forced the PSP version for a bigger screen and remapped the controls. Which would be awesome if they did it correctly, but not only does it look lower quality, but it is packed with problems that the PSP version never had. All in all, this is a great installment to Ratchet and Clank but it's recommended to just get the PSP version, as it's not only more polished, but it doesn't have any where near the amount of problems that the PS2 version had. But I can almost guarantee you that doing so will not be disappointing, as this game is very well done and, as I said, a great installment to the Ratchet and Clank series. This may not be the most amazing Ratchet and Clank game, but it is definitely an amazing effort from High Impact Games. By it, I mean the PSP version.
