The silly beginning to a silly show
nataliabatsko23 December 2021
I haven't watched this show in a very long time and I remember absolutely nothing about it. So yesterday I have decided to rewatch it. I found the first episode that consisted of 2 segments.

The first one is about how Cat was tired from his pal's noise and he wanted some peace and quiet. So he hid Dog in a piece of cloth and decided to take a day off on a cruise ship. But at some point he started to miss fun adventures with his connected pal. I'll admit, this episode was ok, not the best one, but still enjoyable for what it is.

Now the second half of the episode is definitely hilarious! CatDog were sadly banned from a taco restaurant because they didn't pay for their last lunch. So they thought of disguising themselves as a cowboy, cute lady, mom and child, etc. I just laughed so hard at this episode, especially the fact that the Dog loved to eat a lot of food and couldn't even decide where to start.

Also, in the middle of the episode, there was a moment where both received fan mail with a question about where they came from. The answer is creative, they just lied about the fact how they are a part of English royalty.

Overall, I had a fun time watching it. Although, there are things that I didn't like. The worst thing is that the animation looks bland, the colors are mostly dull and the designs are rather simplistic, some characters have dots instead of eyes and that kinda distracted me. Maybe it's because of the budget and the fact that Nickelodeon worked on Hey Arnold! And Spongebob Squarepants at the time and this was their side project, but it's not terrible and looks ok for late 90s standards.

I know it's just my opinion about this, and some may disagree, but I kinda wish the Dog was female. Simply because of the opposites thing. Usually cats and dogs in media don't get along, but if the characters were also the opposite gender, that would add more interest into the show. However, I'm fine with Dog being male, and it's more of a opinion than a requirement.

I would recommend the episode to all Nickelodeon fans, young and old alike. I preferred the second half over the first one, but I would still recommend both, because they come in the same episode. Even though it's silly and mindless, it's at least fun.

Two opposite personalities in one person, or in that case creature.

This is a show that I haven't watched in a very long time. I honestly remember nothing about it. So I decided to rewatch it it's first episode just to know what it was about. Of course the main character is catdog, a weird creature that is literally half cat, half dog. But they are different. Cat is a more sophisticated and intelligent, yet grumpy one, while dog is a more hyperactive and positive one.

The first half of the episode is about how tired was cat from his pal's noise, so he decided to hide dog in a piece of cloth to have some piece and quiet. But soon realises that without a twin, his life is very boring. That episode was ok, it was a nice introduction to the whole show's premise, however I still think it could've been better.

Now the second half is where the fun actually begins! So Catdog decided to go to a taco restaurant, but they were banned from it because they didn't pay for their last lunch there. So they try to disguise themselves as a cowboy, mommy and kid, cute lady and even themselves but swapped. But the green Rabbit, who was the manager of the restaurant, knew that they were tricking him in order to get some yummy food (and dog likes to eat a lot of food.) Now that's what I call funny! It cheered me up! I recommend it for all Nickelodeon fans, kids and adults alike to watch the second segment, the first one is good too, not as good as this one though.

I honestly never thought that I would enjoy it so much, but I did!
