Trivia

The "at sea" scenes were filmed on board QE 2. At the time, the QE 2, in a fit of "Modernism" had the top of the deck railings made out of composition rather than wood. In shots where the railing would be visible, the crew had placed wood design, contact sticky shelf paper over the plastic to give the appearance of a wood railing rather than black plastic. The railings on the QE 2 have since been replaced with real wood! See more »

Goofs

On the ship board sequences filmed on the QE2 one of the deck scenes shows Julia and Charles sitting by an outside pool on deck. Such outside pools were not common at all on British passenger ships until well after WW II and even then were uncommon on ships sailing primarily in the North Atlantic. See more »
