Trivia for
"Knight Rider" Knight Rider (2008)

• Originally, Will Arnett was cast as the voice of K.I.T.T. However, after he had finished recording his lines to everyone's satisfaction, a conflict of interest was raised. His is the distinctive voice heard on General Motors car and truck commercials, but K.I.T.T. is a Ford vehicle. As a result, Val Kilmer was cast as K.I.T.T.'s voice and all of the car's dialog was re-recorded.
  
  
• In this series K.I.T.T stands for Knight Industries Three Thousand, not to be confused with the original K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand).
  
  
• In the beginning, as the thieves are going through the garage, you can see many of the parts from a third generation Firebird, including the outline of an opened hood, a Tune Port Injected engine, as well as the dash of the Knight Industries Two Thousand.
  
  
• If you discount the super cars from the short lived "Team Knight Rider" (1997) series or the car that K.I.T.T. was put into in the movie Knight Rider 2000 (1991) (TV), the new K.I.T.T. is a third generation of Knight Industries Super Cars. The first was K.A.R.R. (Knight Automated Roving Robot), then came the first K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand), and finally the current K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Three Thousand). Later on, we learn there was also a second K.A.R.R., making K.I.T.T. the *fourth* generation.)
  
  
• For much of the movie, Mike Traceur wears a modern version of Michael Knight's signature outfit from the original series - Maroon t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black leather jacket.
  
  
• In the original series, KITT's license plate was a California plate: KNIGHT. In this series KITT's license plate can morph into any state they are in, and it is: 77KR117. (Although in some SSC scenes, it's just KR.)
  
  
• Mike Traceur is initially living in Las Vegas, which is where Michael Knight had been a cop before being recruited into FLAG in the original show.
  
  
• In the scene where Sarah explains KITT's fuel technology, Mike asks "Why you gotta hate on Nebraska?" This is an inside joke to Justin Bruening, as he is from St. Helena, Nebraska.
  
  
• This film effectively removes all previous "revivals" - Knight Rider 2000 (1991) (TV), Knight Rider 2010 (1994) (TV) and "Team Knight Rider" (1997) - from the Knight Rider "timeline".
