Mike and Lou Parker blow open the safe at the Mitchell Plastics Co. and steal the $70,000 that was concealed inside. In running to the getaway car, Lou is struck by Lois Emory's car and is seriously injured. Lois panics and flees the scene, but she soon returns with her husband Peter. When Dan Mathews and Officer Johnson respond to the burglar alarm from Mitchell Plastics, Lois tells them her story. They do not find any accident victim, since Mike has already dragged Lou to a nearby warehouse where they plan to remain in hiding until nightfall. Investigation reveals that the Parkers are likely suspects, but a series of roadblocks and stake-outs yields nothing. Dan and Officer Johnson then surmise that the Parkers did not get far from the robbery scene due to Lou's injuries. They refocus their efforts on hiding places near the scene and soon find themselves confronting the rapidly weakening Lou and his increasingly desperate brother. Written by
