. . . were only one game ahead of the Detroit Tigers for the final 2016 American League play-off spot, thanks to the Tigers TWO-HIT WONDER JaCoby Jones (NOT to be confused with that other notable but short-lived flash-in-the-frog-legs-pan Michigander, Warner Bros. "Michigan J. Frog," star of the animated short ONE FROGGY EVENING and nothing else, at least in the Twentieth Century, and Exhibit A in this Looney Tunes "Behind the Tunes," ONE HIT WONDERS; like Michigan J.'s fish-out-of-water amphibian, the Oklahoma-born Jones stayed fairly dry in his debut in "The Show," until one of his new Tigers teammates doused him with a 20-gallon cooler of water after JaCoby's TWO HITS knocked in two runs, enabling Detroit to remain just one game behind Baltimore--to be fair, it must be noted that Mr. Jones made outs during his first two plate appearances (NOT a term dear to Michigan J.!), so his current Major League Batting Average is only .500, just half of his amphibian counterpart's perfect 1.000, since Michigan J. launched a Big Hit on his one and only try!).
